In the splendid mountain scenery of Alta Badia not only alpine ski runs ensure great emotions. Alta Badia is also an ideal place for winter hiking and Nordic skiing. The trails for cross-country enthusiasts amount to 30 km, including tracks for both classic and skating techniques. At the Cross-Country Centre Alta Badia, located in the Sarè/Armentarola locality, 3 km away from San Cassiano, you will also find a specially equipped biathlon zone (to try with a laser rifle), as well as the Nordic ski school, where you can learn the basics of this elegant winter discipline or book guided snowshoe tours to explore untouched landscaped and historic places.

Of course, there is also no lack of possibilities to go skating, for example, on the ice rink of Corvara and, in case of favourable weather conditions, on various natural lakes, such as the Lake of Sompunt. A completely unique experience is paragliding or hang gliding over the snow-covered peaks of the Dolomites. Beginners can try tandem flights with expert pilots, available, inter alia, at Piz la Ila.
